We spent last week in gorgeous Pensacola, Florida with 15 or so members of my family. It was a great trip! Gabriel wasn’t too excited about the beach this year though. The sand and water combination didn’t quite agree with him!

I had lots of help with Gabriel this week, so much that I took many naps and also read three books! Going on trips with a baby can be hard work, especially when you’re 27 weeks pregnant, but my sweet family made sure that Michael and I got to have some quality “vacation” time on this trip. Thanks, guys πŸ™‚

Gabriel and my brother, Ryan

The entire family πŸ™‚ Gabriel was only happy when cocooned away from the scary waves by a sand fort. With balls and a bucket inside.

Airplane! (We went to the Naval Air Museum one day)

Gabriel sat on this missile for a few pictures and said “Pa-tow, pa-tow, pa-tow!” the entire time. It was cute but also kind of unnerving in a back-of-your-mind kind of way

Doesn’t he look cute in his little sunglasses?
What you don’t see is Gabriel’s hugely pregnant mother snoozing on a towel right next to him, but looking and feeling more like a beached manatee than this cute little picture πŸ™‚

My gorgeous mom. She’s going to make me take this photo off my blog as soon as she sees this, so enjoy while you can. I hope I look this glamorous and beautiful when I’m her age πŸ™‚

What’s not to love about this little boy? I’m such a goner for my son. Oh. My. Goodness.

Case in point…

You AND your mom make some cute mommas! I love that we both went on vacation with our own families in the same week πŸ™‚ What a great time! God definitely provides for those expecting, too. Having so many extra pairs of helping hands is just wonderful.

Thanks so much for the comment on my blog AND for the wonderful conversation yesterday. It's so wonderful to be challenged in such a positive way!

Hi there!

I'm a south Louisiana girl, Catholic wife, writer, speaker, and mother of six. Since I started my blog way back in 2009, life has been a roller coaster of babies, plot twists and a plane crash or two. I've been chronicling things here as I've been learning to love and suffer and laugh and trust in the goodness of God in the ordinary and the extraordinary--with a little espresso and a lot of Divine Mercy.
