Oh, how new parents can’t imagine ever hurting their children! And how hard it is when it’s just an accident!
This afternoon, Michael accidentally caught a little piece of Gabriel’s wrist skin in the buckle of the bouncer. Gabriel informed us of this infraction immediately, with a high-pitched scream and a gush of tears.
Immediately, Michael started feverishly trying to make amends. I had an out of body experience as I dashed across the room, frantically interrogating my husband. Michael and I had a side-by-side elbow-fighting match to see who would pick up our screaming baby boy to comfort him first. Michael won. But just because I had pity on him after seeing the involuntary tears in his eyes. My Mama Bear instincts make me temporarily able to beat up anyone who messes with my baby, including my husband. 🙂
This little family drama occurred and was settled within about fifteen minutes. Michael and I were grinning at each other by the end of it, because we know how foolish we would look to the outside person watching us with our child (we make God laugh daily, I’m sure).

Gabriel knows I love him!! The only reason he will remember this is because it is documented 🙂

I don't know who to feel more sorry for… Gabriel or Michael!

Erin, it was great seeing you guys and visiting with Michael's family, too. What a precious church family you have there. They welcomed Gabriel into their fold with obvious love and enthusiasm. I'm so glad you guys are there.
