Baby Franco #5 is due sometime before Thanksgiving this fall. I’m still wrapping my head around being a mother of five.
The day we found out the gender of the baby, we took all the kids into the ultrasound with us. It was quite the production, but worth it. The kids’ excitement about finding out the new baby’s gender was a huge joy to Michael and me.
That night, on a whim, Michael and I decided to make a gender reveal home video to “Can’t the Stop the Feeling” from “Trolls.” I was a little hesitant, but it ended up being a blast and really turned out pretty cute, except for the shaky video from the kids bumping into it constantly before their big entrance. Michael and I thought it added some authenticity.:)
We’ve never done a reveal party or anything super creative to announce the gender of our previous babies. But you know what? Finding out the gender of a fifth baby should be just as exciting and blessed a moment as for baby number one. Maybe Michael and I subconsciously wanted to remind ourselves of that. Or maybe that’s just me.:)
I can’t post the video we made on the blog, but here is the poem we hold up on signs in the video. I had fun discussing slant rhyme with Michael and finding a way to justify the word “fuller.”
Our lives are so full/
but they’re about to get fuller/
because four kids is awesome/
but five kids is cooler/
We’ll have five little Franklets, three and two/
Come this November, three will be…BLUE!!!

Congratulations!
Just when I thought things were going to get a little easier, we discovered we are expecting our surprise baby after Christmas. I am a little worried about five and homeschooling! It should be interesting and a little crazy–ha!!
