This is one of those posts where I make all of my readers feel a little bit better about themselves. π
Let’s talk Fruit and Failure.
First, the Failure. I have a confession to make: I wasn’t all that faithful to my own prayer challenge last week.
Oh, the shame.
Oh, the wake up call.
Surprisingly, it was not enough to publish my good intentions to the World Wide Web. I really thought I would just remember to pray for him every day. And I hate that didn’t remember. I wish I would have known myself well enough to realize I needed to set an alarm on my phone or at a minimum put a note on my bedside table or on my Bible.
Despite my Failure, I do see some beautiful Fruit from this week. I realized that I should be praying every day for my husband.
No, we’re not currently pregnant.:) This is from the Franco Family Photo Archives. Mike and me (me being very pregnant for Gianna) Spring 2013. |
I have prayed almost constantly for Michael during tough seasons of our marriage, but I have not thought before now to continue to pray for him during “ordinary time.” If the vocation to marriage calls us to help each other to Heaven, then praying regularly for our spouses is something of a necessary practice, it seems.
Thank you to all of you who participated in the prayer challenge this week! I loved all of the comments and sweet notes of special fruits you saw in the heart of your husband. What a blessing!
On another note, for those of you Superstar Wives (ahem, Angela:) who have asked me about posting the Scripture verses for each prayer, I’ve asked Marianne to send those to me when she gets a chance. I will add those to the original post when I get them, and then I’ll shoot you guys an email letting you know when they’re up! We all need more Scripture written on our hearts, and I’m looking forward to reading them as well.
Grace, peace, and joy to each of you!
