A real Photo Roundup for your viewing enjoyment! Mostly some Slice of Life stuff, but some excitement mixed in there…you’ll just have to scroll down. π
Playing together in the backyard. Faith wants to walk (and climb) so badly, but she’s not quite there yet. Maybe by her 1st birthday in 12 days? π
Playing at Jumpin Jungle on Thursday with my friend Lyvia
Gourmet family-style lunch for the babies and I to share! Cheese, whole wheat Ritz crackers, chopped turkey, and guacamole. Yum!
And since we’re talking about lunches…
I took the kids to the park for a picnic lunch of leftovers the other day. They loved it! And they slept really well that afternoon, too. 95 degree heat while eating lunch does that to you I guess. Bad mama?
Faith doesn’t think I’m a bad mama. π
The picnic spread: Salad, spaghetti, mac n’ cheese, Chex mix, cheese sticks, tortilla chips and guacamole (I’m lovin’ the Wholly Guacamole packs right now!)
Now that I’ve overdone it on pictures of us eating lunch…
Did I mention that Faith is really anxious to walk soon? And apparently ride a bike?
On to other news…I took the kids to Jumpin Jungle with a friend last week. I had no idea what Jumpin Jungle was, and if I did I probably wouln’t have gone. It’s basically two big rooms of wall-to-wall Spacewalks/Moonwalks/Bounce Houses (what do YOU call them? Everyone seems to call these smelly, if-your-being-honest-often-dangerous things something different.:).
Anyway, Gabriel has never enjoyed Spacewalks before, so I wouldn’t have gone had I known that’s where we were going! We were there about an hour and a half, and he stood around and stared at the other kids the entire time until 15 minutes before I wanted to leave, when he suddenly–
Climbed up the tallest, scariest one all by himself…
And slid right down in the arms of an older woman!!!
Huh-lare-eeh-us.
Now for something not as hilarious but cute and funny in the moment…
Gabriel asked to paint, but he really wanted face paint. Apparently.
Gabriel and his friend Evelyn found a baby frog, and I trapped it in a jar for them to stare at for a few minutes. So cute…the fascination with bugs and reptiles has begun?
Gabriel and Faith were absolute angels when we went to pray in front of Planned Parenthood for a few minutes this morning. I still was busy enough with them that I don’t think I was able to pray the entire rosary in the 45 minutes we were there, but that’s OK. I have a feeling that the offered-up prayers of a mom with her hands full are generously multiplied.:)
While we were there this morning, two different women who talked to Houston Coalition for Life volunteers at the exit and entrance gates decided to go have ultrasounds on the Blue Bus. My friend John had been the person that talked to one of them, and he texted me this afternoon that the woman came back to him later and thanked him deeply.
How awesome! π
But here’s something not so awesome. π
Michael accidentally cut himself with a chainsaw while trimming trees today for a client. 25 feet in the air by the way in a man lift.
(Big Girl Sigh.)
We are thinking we are going to have to go get stitches for this. Butterfly tape, gauze, hydrogen peroxide and Neosporin aren’t going to cut it.
This picture makes it look like a “legit zombie wound!” As we’re trying to joke about it.
In all seriousness, it’s pretty icky. And scary. And I’m more shaken up than I think I am. Having Michael work outside to provide for our family right now is often humbling. The idea is that he’s not going to be doing the actual work forever–our employees will–but starting from the ground up building a company means you put in your time…and your blood, sweat and tears.
Sure hope it wasn't my tree that did this to him!
Loved the photos! So sorry to hear about Micheal's "owie", as Ella would put it. I do hope he recovers well. Honestly, from the pic, steristrips might do (don't know if they sell these at the drugstore though). We use those all the time for deeper wounds in the CCU. Best of luck!
so funny, as you commented on the facebook group I was browsing your blog!! love it! I have to ask you something I will message you…. π
