I’m loving this little bit of news I have to share with you: I’m heading to San Antonio in early April to speak at the Catholic Women Blogging Network Texas annual conference.
Yeehaw! Can you tell I’m thrilled to bits?!
I am honored to be a speaker and excited for a girls weekend with a group of women who get my life in a special way. I’m really looking forward to meeting up in person with some old and new bloggy friends, as well as getting practical tips during the conference on the technical and business sides of blogging. Being a blog-at-home Catholic mom has some special challenges, and I can’t wait to bounce ideas off other ladies in the same boat.
When I started this blog, I was newly wed, newly pregnant, poor as a church mouse, and living hundreds of miles from friends and family. Seven years, five pregnancies, many laughs, and a few big curveballs later, Humble Handmaid has slowly grown in perspective and in purpose.
Mostly, it’s not about me anymore.
What started out as blog for me to post new-wife-and-new-mom stories about baby poop explosions and stinky apartment fridges has grown into a real ministry. I’m thrilled to get to share at this conference a little of what I’ve learned.
So, if you are Catholic, a woman, live in the southern United States, and have even a little-bitty blog space on the Internet…you should think about joining us in San Antonio next month.
Here’s what I’ll be speaking about:
- Using blogging as an evangelization tool
- The role of humility in Catholic blogging
- Solidarity among Catholic women (and women in general) in the blogosphere
- Finding your voice as a blogger
Whether or not you’re a blogger yourself, and whether or not you can make it in April:), I wish you and yours grace and peace today!

It’s going to be so fun, Erin!! I canNOT wait to be in a room full of like-minded, like-yoked women trying to draw closer to Jesus and lead others His way, too. Bliss and peace. Praying now for your talk and that the Holy Spirit fills you with wisdom!
It’s been such a blessing being bloggy friends (and real life friends!) for so long. Blessings!

Amanda, I hope that you can make it and that we’ll get to meet up in real life for the first time! That would be so awesome:) Let me know if something works out last minute!!
